‘Finding God in all things’ is one of the pillars of Ignatian spirituality! It’s up to you to choose the most appropriate means for you today, for a small step further in your personal and spiritual life. In all the experiments, a daily sharing group (a ‘Magis Circle’) will be offered to you to discuss the day and review what you have experienced, a group that you will keep for the Jubilee week.

A little advice for your choice: not all the experiments have the same terms and conditions. Take a good look at the information under the title on the specific page, it will tell you the start date, the cost, the meeting place, the language (most experiments are in French), as well as the age group concerned. The experiments are categorised into 4 groups: everyone(18-35 years), Students (18-23 years), Young professionals (23-35 years) with a special experiment for 28-35 year olds.

On the registration platform, you can select 5 experiments and specify your choices. We will get back to you to confirm the experiment you have been selected for, and you can then get your tickets to attend. However, don’t worry about your journey from the experiment to Rome: we will take you there, and it is included in the price.

For the Jubilee Year 2025, the Pope has chosen as his central message ‘Hope does not disappoint’ (Romans 5:5). In our world, shaken by numerous conflicts, a pandemic, the climate emergency, and so many other events and phenomena that we cannot begin to understand, how can we give an incarnate meaning to this message? How can we believe it? This Holy Year invites us to hold on to hope and to be strengthened.

We will be accommodated collectively (for example in classrooms or gymnasiums) and we will have access, through an application, to all the proposals in French.

Every day, before we disperse for the day, a time of prayer with a sharing group (‘MAGIS Circle’) will be offered. If you have had an experiment, this Magis Circle will be kept. Afterwards, you will be free to wander around the city, between cultural visits, discovering the Church of Rome and Ignatian places, meeting up with your friends and training time. Because 31 July is the feast of St Ignatius, a big international celebration will bring us together with all the Magis delegations.

In short : The week will kick off on Monday 28 July with a mass together in a Jesuit church, and will end with the weekend at Tor Vergata. In between, there will be the passage through the Holy Door, the feast of St Ignatius of Loyola, visits and teachings. And every day, your Magis Circles.

The Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius are a treasure, and we really want to share them with you. So this year MAGIS invites you to experience them as a continuation of the Jubilee week.

What are the Exercises? A time of retreat, in silence, to meet Christ personally through meditation on his Word and contemplation. Personal and daily spiritual guidance will be offered to you. The Spiritual Exercises are a tool for discernment and making choices that lead to more life!

Ready to take a little step further? Two locations are available for you to experience the Exercises for 5 days, at the Simplon Pass in Switzerland or in Chartreuse (France), and we will take you there (included in the price). On the Italian-Swiss border; end of the retreat on the morning of Sunday 10 August 2024 (locations and liturgies in English with the possibility of accompaniment in French)

In the heart of the Swiss alps with a view of the glaciers and on the edge of a lake, the international network of Living Stones invites you to experience the Exercises through a walking and meditation experience. Surrounded by retreatants from different countries, languages and cultures, you will be able to contemplate the beauty of Creation and be silent to listen to Christ. Spiritual guidance while walking will be offered. Whether it’s your very first retreat or your twentieth, you have a place at Simplon!

We organise buses from Lyon to Rome, and Rome to Lyon. This is the preferred option if it fits with you home place. There’s going to be a huge crowd of people wanting to get to or from Rome at the same time, these buses are the best option if Lyon is quite on your way, the safest and the most pleasant, even if it means a slight diversion or extra costs: everything will be optimised for you. Not to mention the ecological bonus compared with flying!

Meeting points on the way in :

– Meeting point at your place of experiment if you’re doing one. Connections from your place of experiment to Rome are included in the pack, we’ll manage them for you!
– Meeting point in Lyon on Sunday 27 July between 2pm and 4pm for the joint departure to Rome
– Meeting point in Rome on Monday 28 July before 4pm if you are going by your own means

Meeting points on the way back:

– Departure from Rome : from 6pm if you leave by your own means. WARNING: anticipate the crowds, plan well in advance! The MAGIS network will not be held responsible in the event of missed transport.
– Departure from Lyon : from 2 pm (3 pm for a plane) on Monday 4 August, if you leave Rome with us by buses

– Departure from your place of Exercise at the end of the week:
– From St Hugues de Biviers: departure after 2pm on Saturday 9 August.
– From Simplon: departure on Sunday 10 August, morning.

In both cases, the connection to get to your place of exercise is included in the pack, we’ll manage it for you!
