Find out more about the experiment:
Inspired by the history of Europe and guided by the spiritual heritage of Ignatius of Loyola, come and explore Christian commitment, both personal and collective, in public life. This reflection will follow two main lines: service in public commitment (justice depends on people who, guided by faith, respond to a call to work with and for others) and discernment (service requires a shared attention to the lives of others, taking into account the complexity of human motivations, as well as the presence of the Spirit). To this end, a different theme will be addressed each day: our personal histories of public service; facing power, the challenge of public life; our need for community; the limits of community; finding one’s way; revisiting our personal histories.
Discover the partners:
Since its foundation, the Society of Jesus has constantly striven to work for social justice. Indeed, the encounter with Christ cannot leave one indifferent; it pushes each person to find their own way of making a concrete commitment to a better world. With the Jesuit European Social Centre, the Jesuits in Europe coordinate a whole network of institutions working towards this goal. The Faith and Politics session is a good example of an initiative that has emerged from these institutions.
