Find out more about the experiment:

‘It’s like a celebration to see so many young people on the hill, together in such diversity. It gives us great hope that a humanity at peace is possible.’ (Fr Alois).

Come and experience the encounter with Christ at the ecumenical Taizé Community, carried by the meditative songs that fill the Church of Reconciliation.

This year, you will have the choice of:
– Experience the week of meetings in Taizé, characterised by communal prayer, biblical reflection (in English), sharing circles that will continue during the jubilee week, times of service and in-depth workshops.
– Experience the Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius of Loyola in silence with the Sisters of St Andrew, in Ameugny (neighbouring village), in the format of a preached retreat, while sharing the liturgy of the Taizé community. Daily spiritual direction (in French or English) will be offered if you wish.

Taizé

Born of the intuition of Brother Roger, in the context of the Second World War, the Taizé community has a charisma of welcome and reconciliation. Today it brings together around 80 brothers, from various ecclesial backgrounds – Catholic, Anglican, Protestant – and from nearly 30 countries. Throughout the year, to enable them to recharge their batteries, the community welcomes tens of thousands of young people from Europe and other continents.

Soeurs de Saint André

Sharing a charisma very similar to that of the Taizé community, the Sisters of St Andrew, founded in Belgium in the Middle Ages, came to lend a helping hand to the brothers in Burgundy from 1966 onwards, to welcome and accompany the young people coming in ever greater numbers to this place. Taizé does not aim to be a huge crowd phenomenon. Attention to each person is resolutely preserved.
